Woot!!! I finally got there! Thanks guys!

That's not even the most important thing though. Wisconsin has been suffering a lot in the last couple days. I can't even believe some of the things that have happened. Lake Delton - completely gone. It decided to carve out a new path for a river. It was completely devastating. Houses washed away like cardboard boxes..... The entire contents of the lake emptied out and routed itself into the Wisconsin River. There are other areas that they're just waiting for their dams to let all hell loose. Several places evacuated.... Most of these are areas that got 10+ inches of rain this last weekend. Not to mention, there was a series of tornados that hit Dane county (the Madison area) on Saturday. It was like 6 or 7 different touch downs. I swear, the weather here is crazy!!! So very much not fun. I just ask that everyone keep the flood victims in Wisconsin in their thoughts.

Anyways, sleep time. I had to drive back home from Green Bay this morning at 5am so I would make it to work since I couldn't drive back through the storms.

So .... I haven't updated my account in a while. Figures... typical me. Too busy to breathe it seems. So busy, in fact, that my fiancee and I split up three weeks ago and I haven't even had the time to miss him. Work had been insane in the last month, not to mention then all I seem to do is go home and do more work for the Kilties with my sewing projects and I got a new kitty! Kitties are work too... I'm trying to get him to behave, but sometimes that just doesn't happen. He's teething so he's been chewing on just about everything he can get his mouth around.

Yes, in there I said my fiancee and I split up. It was for the best. We didn't agree on so many things that eventually it just becomes a deal breaker. I love Madison and my job and I would have had to give it all up to be with him. I wasn't finding it worth it after a while. Give it up... for what? To go live with someone I argue with constantly and be miserable? Sorry... not worth it. I don't think he knew me at all when he popped the question.... So I get to stay in Madison and keep my job! Yay! Things that make me happy.

As I was mentioning before, the new kitty is quite the handful! His name is Virgil and he's 9 months old and is so adorable and snuggly and playful. I forgot just how much energy kittens have! My bad.... He and Benny are starting to get along better now. They play and snuggle together every once in a while, so that's always a promising sign. They kind of had a rough start... Benny hissed at him every time he came within a 10 foot radius of him. They're doing much better now.

On a plus note, work has lightened up a bit - for now. I was on call last month, so it was absolutely nuts. I'm getting closer to completion on the Kiltie uniforms too. I had a bunch of help last weekend and we got a lot accomplished! I should be able to polish them off by the deadline. YAY! I'll have to post a picture of my creation once they're all finished up. Anyways, that's about it for now. Ciao!

I should really post a picture of the uniform, even though it was only used for a few shows and some parades. That still just burns me..... At least the finished list got longer, but then again, so did the waiting list. </EDIT>

On February 2nd, I lost this sweet little guy....

Rascal

He died from the most common heart disease found in cats: Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. It's when the left side of your heart gets way thicker than the right. It's something a cat can live with, but it can also cause sudden death if not attended to. This happens in humans just the same as in cats. It seems that no matter how many times the vet tells me there was nothing I could have done, I still wonder - when will I stop missing him? When will I stop wanting to cry every time I think about it? He was completely fine before I went to bed... and the next morning, he had already been gone for hours. If any of you have lost a pet, how long did it take you to get over it? Did you have other pets that were affected by the death as well? Rascal has a twin brother still here that misses him very much. Sorry this journal's kinda depressing. I just miss my little Rascal.
